Michael G. Wesner, 71, of Eau Claire, died Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville.

Friends are invited to visit from 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday, March 30, at Bowerman Funeral Home in Eau Claire, and to leave online messages at www.bowermanfuneral.com.  Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 31, at Caldwell Cemetery, Eau Claire.

Michael was born October 29, 1945, in Benton Harbor, the son of George H. and Ruby (Olney) Wesner.  He worked for Cuthbert Tractor Co. before being drafted to serve his country with the U.S. Army.  He later worked for Spangler Allis-Chalmers until they closed, then for Buchanan Co-op.  His last employment before retiring was as a school bus mechanic at Farm Bureau.  His leisure pastimes included cooking, grilling, and gardening, and he enjoyed his friends at the local tavern.

He is survived by two brothers, Kerry “Bill” Wesner of Eau Claire and Robert Wesner of Watervliet; nieces and nephews, Natalee, David, and Jeremy; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
