Gary G. Renfro, 68, of St. Joseph, passed away, Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at his home.
Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 23 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, St. Joseph. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 4:00 P.M. Thursday, May 24, 2018 at First Church of God, 2627 Niles Ave., St. Joseph, with Rev. Rick Blumenberg officiating and fellowship to follow the service. Memorials in Gary’s name may be made to First Church of God Missions, the Salvation Army, or the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan. Gary was born April 30, 1950 in Benton Harbor to Gene & Luci (Young) Renfro. He graduated from St. Joseph High School, Class of 1968. On September 6, 1969, he married the former Margaret Mildebrandt in Benton Harbor. After working for several years, Gary returned to school at Western Michigan University and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in 1982. On November 28, 1984 he began his career as a CPA, most recently operating his own office-Gary Renfro, CPA. He was a member of First Church of God and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants. He enjoyed woodworking, golfing, playing pool, and tinkering & fixing things around the house.
Gary is survived by his wife Margaret; his daughter Stephanie Renfro of St. Joseph; and his brother & sister-in-law-Terry & Diana Renfro of Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Mike Renfro.
