Lynette Kay Baker, 72, of Taylors, South Carolina, went home to Heaven on May 16, 2018. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sommerfeld Chapel – 15 N. Baton St., New Buffalo, MI.
Lynette was born on December 24, 1945 in Michigan City, IN to the late Kenneth and Lillian (Kottsick) Baker. She graduated from New Buffalo High School in 1964 and received a BA in Christian Education from Bob Jones University in 1968. She taught first grade in Wanatah, IN before returning to Bob Jones University in 1973 to serve on the Student Life staff until she retired in May, 2011. Lynette was Dean of Women for 17 years prior to retirement.
Lynette is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Sally and Ted Robertson; one nephew, Mark (Cathy) Robertson; two nieces, Andrea (Jonathan) Taylor and Karyn (Matt) Bush; plus ten grand-nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at the Bible Baptist Church, New Buffalo, MI on May 29th at 10:00am with a service to follow at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in New Buffalo, MI. Friends wishing to leave the family a message of condolence may do so at www.sommerfeldchapel.com
