MariLou Johnson, 79, of Watervliet, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at The Willows in St. Joseph.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, April 29 at Watervliet Free Methodist Church of which she was a lifetime member.  Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Watervliet.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00-7:00 PM at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma.  Memorial donations in MariLou’s memory may be made to Hospice at Home. MariLou was born March 10, 1937 in Watervliet, Michigan to Louis and Dorothy Hennesey.   On August 25, 1956 she married Ralph Wayne Johnson.  MariLou worked in central processing at Watervliet Community Hospital for 29 years.  In her free time she loved to travel, was a Sunday school teacher, a preschool teacher and in 1955 was chosen Cherry Pie Queen.

MariLou is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ralph; four children Debra (Humayun) Syed of Wyandotte, MI, Kevin (Karen) Johnson of Medford, OR, Kim (Tim) Ertman of Watervliet, and Denise (Dean) Armstrong of Brooklyn, MI. Also surviving are seven grandchildren Janee (Pete) Zimmerman, Kyleen (Scott) Brodie, Natasha, Sidrah and Tarik Syed, and Shawn (Kelsi)  Ertman and Brad Ertman and two great grandsons; Nicholas Ertman and Miles Brodie.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
