Don passed away very unexpectedly at his home late Friday night April 29. Born and raised in Arkansas. Moved to Michigan and found the Love of his life. He served 2 years in the Army to become a Sergeant and receiving multiple medals. Working most of his life in foundry, he was a “Jack of all trades”. Not much he couldn’t do! If anyone needed anything Don was the one to call. He was always helping someone do something. He loved staying busy. Enjoying his new talent of sewing and making blankets and pillows for all the babies. Looking forward to hunting, fishing and scrapping. He was always trying to “skunk” whoever was with fishing. The last time out fishing, he was the only one to catch anything. Meeting the Love of his life Mary, while on leave at a roller skating rink in Coloma. It was truly Love at first sight! Married on April 11, 1970 at Faith church in Coloma. Having 4 children and 9 grand-babies. He was Paw-Paw and uncle to many! Preceded in death by his father James D. Lock. Survivors include, his mother Lora Lock of Kalamazoo MI. His wife Mary of Coloma, Brother Ronald Lock of Texas. Sister, Sonia (Dan) Martin of Kalamazoo MI. Children are Donita Lock of Coloma, Brandy (Keith) Hiler of Benton Harbor, William Lock of Coloma, and Amanda Lock of Bangor. Grand-babies are Bryndle, Harleigh, David, Jerry, Alan, KJ, Liam, Delainey, and Allaynah. Cremation will take place at Hoven funeral home. A “Celebration of Life” service will be held on Wednesday May 11 at 4 p.m. at Faith Ev. Lutheran Church in Coloma MI. Online condolences may be made at www.hovenfunerals.com
