
Willie B. Peete was born October 16, 1950 to the union of Bonnie & Lillian Peete in Millington TN. He accepted Christ at an early age at Jerusalem Baptist Church in Quito TN. After graduating from Munford High School in Munford TN he moved to Benton Harbor MI and joined Golden Light Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Mathis Kyle. In 1976 he moved his membership to Macedonia Community Church where Rev. George Robinson was called to pastor. Years later he moved his membership to St. Paul M.B. Church under the leadership of Pastor George Robinson where he continued to sing in the Senior Choir until his heath failed.
Willie was the first black man to be employed at a White owned grocery store Pounce in Quito TN. He was also employed at Auto Specialties until they closed, then he worked various jobs. His passion was spending quality time with his family and friends, he was never a stranger, he carried on a conversation with everyone he met. He found peace in going fishing with his buddies.
Willie is survived by one sister Maxine Smith Benton Harbor MI, four sons Kevin (Adonis) Peete of Millington TN, Willie Peete Jr. and Marcus (Tenisha) Peete both of Benton Harbor MI and Tyrone Peete of Atlanta GA, one aunt Pearl Kilpatrick of Milwaukee WI, four grandchildren and two on the way, one Godmother Sis. Mary Hampton, one Godbrother L.C. Carrouthers both of Benton Harbor MI, one Godson son James Street, one Goddaughter Jamira Moss both of Benton Harbor MI, Special friend Annie French and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Willie was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters Dorothy Lusk, Rosie Hale and Maddie Robinson one brother Contee Peete.
