Maxine McCoy Robinson, 79, of St. Joseph, MI, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at home.
She was born in Wyatt, Missouri on March 11, 1938 to the Late Rev. Pastor John H. McCoy Sr. and Annie L. McCoy. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School. In 1959, Maxine married the late Elder John A. Robinson Sr. She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her five children, Pastor Carolyn Williams of Louisville KY, John Amos (Bethann) Robinson Jr. of Benton Harbor, MI, Denise (Anthony) Mathison, Donna Robinson-Bownes, both of Mishawaka, IN, Kennetha (Eld. Corey) Hampton Sr. of St. Joseph, MI; 23 loving grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, three godsons, Jerome(Kathy) Berry of Benton Harbor, MI, Kenneth (Karen) Hasley of LA, CA., Terry (Denise) Mason of South Haven, MI; five brothers, John Edward (Anna Louise) McCoy, Calvin (Wilana) McCoy, Steven D. (Patricia) McCoy all of Benton Harbor, MI, Paul H. McCoy, Robert I. (Pamela) McCoy of Ann Arbor, MI; seven sisters, Rosie (Edward) Hudson, Ruthie M. Haralson of Benton Harbor, MI, Virgie (Michael) Rollins of Detroit, MI, Annie Queen (Anthony) Rollings of Stevensville, MI, Katie D. McCoy, Helen McCoy Allen of Ypsilanti, MI, and Darlene McCoy of the Greater Metro-Detroit area; three sister-in-law’s, Wille Mae Thompson, Ollie L. Robinson of Benton Harbor, MI, and Martha McCoy of Ann Arbor, MI. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years, Eld. John Amos Robinson Sr.; devoted son, Andrew K. Robinson Sr.; father, Rev. Pastor John Henry McCoy Sr.; mother, Annie L. McCoy; sister, Dorothy McCoy Clark; two brothers, Secrey McCoy, and Leonard McCoy.
A funeral service for Maxine will be held at 11 am on Monday, April 17, 2017 at Refreshing Fountain C.O.G.I.C, 175 S. Euclid Ave., Benton Harbor, MI 49022 with Pastor Stephen McCoy of McCoy’s Memorial Church officiating. Burial will follow at Crystal Springs Cemetery.
