Bonnie Lee Dacle Payne, 84, of St. Joseph Michigan was united with her husband on Monday June 26, 2017 after passing away peacefully at home.
Bonnie was born in Judsonia, AR on June 6, 1933 to Jesse and Dora (Sterling) Sliter. She married the love of her life, Norman Charles Payne, on February 6, 1954 and they celebrated nearly 60 years of happy marriage before his death in 2013.
Bonnie was a member of Baroda Church of God. She enjoyed reading, sewing, word searches, and she loved making quilts for the family that they still cherish. She was an avid sports fan of every sport. Granny’s family was her heart and soul, and was always the family’s biggest prayer angel.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Baroda Church of God, Lakeshore Campus. Officiating the service will be Rev. Dr. Bonita Laudeman. Burial will be private. Memorials may be made to The Stevensville American Legion Post 568 for the baseball fund, or to Baroda Church of God. Survivors of Bonnie include her children, Donna (James) Dobbins, Mary Schmidtke, and Norman (Julie) Payne, grandchildren include , Amy Dobbins and Jimmy Dobbins, Jr., Cory Schmidtke, Nicole (Jack) Meyers; Stephanie and Allison Payne, Zachary, Nicholas, and Benjamin Galat; great-grandchildren Logan and Caitlyn Dobbins; her sister Ann Treat, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
