On June 9, 1929 in Marianna, Arkansas Mother Lola Watson was born to John and Leora Harris.
Mother Watson lived in Chicago, Ill and Gary IN before moving to Benton Harbor.
Mother Watson was a member of Old Path Church of God under the leadership of Apostle Minus Thompson, Sr. She was a faithful and devoted member to her church.
Mother Watson known to us as (Aunt Lola) loved her Family dearly. Her Grandchildren were her heart. She helped send them thru College. Whatever the need was Aunt Lola was there to help her family and friends.
Mother Watson enjoyed fishing, travelling, gardening and cooking (especially those candied yams and greens) She was a very classy and sophisticated Lady who loved to dress.
Mother Watson was a caregiver and homemaker. She owned and operated a restaurant in Gary, IN. She also received contracts
for cleaning offices.
On Sunday, July 2, 2017 at 9:13 am at the Hanson Hospice center in Stevensville MI Mother Watson at the age of 88 years old departed this life.
She leaves to mourn, one (1) Daughter, Jessie Mae Lewis; one (1) Brother, James Harris; Four (4) Grandchildren, John H. (Verlona), Pamela, Derrick and Donyal (Theodora) Lewis. Ten (10) Great-Grandchildren; one (1) Great-Great Grand and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Mother Watson was preceded in death by her Husband, Lucious (bubba) Watson; Parents, John and Lenora Harris; brothers, Johnny Lee, John Harris, Jr, Floyd Harris, Charles Harris, Sr. and Otha Harris and Sister, Queen Foster.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Family Funeral Home, Benton Harbor.
