Peggy Jean Davis, 71 of Benton Harbor transitioned home on Monday, August 21, 2017. At her home surrounded by family.

Peggy was born November 17, 1945 in Humboldt Tennessee to Jeff and Jesse Mae Davis. She was employed at Mercy Hospital then moved over to Lakeland Hospital where she took an early retirement to be closer to her loving family.

She was a loving Wife and Mother and lived for her family. Her heart’s desire was always to see others happy. She never murmured or complained regarding herself yet she continually went out of her way to help others.
She loved to cook for everyone and would prepare a meal in the wee hours if necessary to provide for one in need.

She loved the Lord with all her heart and was a Mother/member of Straight Gate Ministries in which she attended faithfully until her health failed her.
She loved to praise God and prayed consistently for everyone she knew as well as singing in the choir until her health would no longer permit.

Peggy will forever be remembered in the loving hearts of her daughters: Paula Whiteside, Kalamazoo Michigan, Shirley (LC) Carouthers, Alberta (Rodell) Davis-Oliver, Jackson, Ruthie Davis, Benton Harbor, her sons Willie Davis of Benton Harbor, MIchigan, Dave Whiteside Jr. of Memphis Tennessee, Phillip (Sadie) Whiteside of Texas, Dairio WHiteside of Texas and Cavaheri (Patricia) Davis of Benton Harbor. Special grandchildren: Markus “Loope” Whiteside, Indianapolis, Indiana, Cavaheri “Lil Carl” Davis Jr., Benton Harbor, Michigan, Maleje’ “PJ” Whiteside, Kalamazoo, Michigan and Byron “Sprout” Delaney II of Kalamazoo, Michigan, sisters; Shirley Gooch, Donna Davis, Sylvia Washington Thienda (Tony) Davis all of Benton Harbor, Michigan, Yolanda (Kinsey) Poole of Indianapolis, Indiana, brothers; Timmy Davis of California, Neil Davis, Ronnie Davis, Esther Davis all of Benton Harbor, Michigan. 52 grandchildren a host of nieces, nephews,great grandchildren, family and friends. She cherished and loved each and every one.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jeff and Jesse Mae Davis, her beloved husband Jessie Davis, her brother Steve (Billy) Davis, her sons, Jessie Davis Jr, Frank James Davis, a great granddaughter Joisha LaNeka-Ellanise Boatner and a special daughter in law, Debra Brown.
Memorial contributions in her honor may be made to Hospice at Home.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Family Funeral Home, Benton Harbor.
