Ellen Wise, 90, of St. Joseph passed away Friday December 1, 2017 at Caretel Inns of Lakeland.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, with Pastor Tom Bird officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. with service at 11:00 with burial following at Riverview Cemetery. Ellen was born December 16, 1926 to Floyd & Lydia (Summerfelt) Story in Benton Harbor, MI. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School and went on to receive her nursing degree. Ellen was united in marriage on May 3, 1947 to Howard Wil1ming in Benton Harbor. She was then married to Brian Wise in 1979 after the death of her first husband. Ellen loved cooking as well as gardening and music of any kind. She and her husband Brian enjoyed going to casinos and horse races.
Ellen is survived by her son, Richard (Marianne) Willming of St. Joseph; grandchildren, Jenny (Jason) Shaughnesey, David (Lizz) Willming, Kim (Scott) Rykse, Kellie Tazolacci and Bradley (DeDe) Roberts; eleven great-grandchildren; sisters, Donna Willming and Joan Van Dyke. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Howard Willming; second husband, Brian Wise; daughter, Janice Willming-Roberts; and siblings, Ed Story and Carol Tomkins.
