Charles Robert Wilson

Charles Robert Eugene Wilson, age 43, of Constantine, died suddenly Thursday, January 18, 2018, in Elkhart General Hospital.

He was born October 3, 1974 in Niles, Michigan, the youngest of four children born to Robert and Nancy Wilson. He married Marcy Burkey April 3, 2013 in Elkhart, Indiana.  She survives.

Charlie served honorably in the U.S. Air Force, retiring with the rank of Staff Sergeant. He served as a firefighter, EMT, and first responder for Porter Township Fire Department.  Charlie was an avid hunter and NASCAR (Jimmy Johnson) fan.  His family calls him a “Connoisseur of Beer” because he liked “weird” beers.  Charlie liked carpentry and building things, not only for himself, but also for family and friends.

Charlie will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his wife Marcy Wilson of Constantine, four daughters, Chelsea Wilson, Jessyka Wilson, Kennedy Espinoza, Tayler Miller; one grandson, Kai Stansberry; his parents, Robert and Nancy Wilson of Cassopolis; one sister, Laura (Dale) Conn of Dowagiac; one brother, Russell Wilson of Cassopolis; a host of nieces and nephews; and his fur babies Jody, Colton, and Lily.  He was preceded in death by one sister, Katherine Wilson.

Family and friends will gather Monday, January 22, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. for a time of sharing memories and telling stories in Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funerals, 202 North Broadway Street, Cassopolis. Military honors will be rendered Tuesday, January 23, 2018 in Fort Custer National Cemetery.
