Maynord Elliott Boyd Jr. born January 20, 1952 peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 with his family by his side, at Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph, MI. He was the oldest of twelve children born to the union of Maynord Elliott Boyd Sr. and Earlie B. Boyd in Benton Harbor, Michigan.

As a child, Maynord was very intuitive. He is fondly remembered by his family and friends making a wish bone sling shot, possibly inspired by David with his sling that defeated Goliath, and making cardboard houses, then burning them down.

Favorite sibling times were playing cards, shooting pool, Maynord teaching his siblings Karate and anything else that was suggested, he was up for. Maynord is also remembered by racing his car “The Red Baron” in Indiana and winning the trophy, and his love for cooking. In his personal time he enjoyed watching the “Westerns” on TV and building and creating things. Maynord loved being the “Big Brother” and didn’t allow anyone to mess with his family. Maynord was loved dearly by his siblings because he was a great “Big Brother” and Protector.

Maynord attended Bard Elementary and graduated class of 1970 from Benton Harbor High School. In 1978 Maynord married Pamela Johnson in Benton Harbor, Michigan and to that union was born one daughter, Paris Boyd, whom he cherished dearly. Maynord later had two (2) sons, Elliot Boyd and Farrall Boyd whom he held very close to him, and step children whom he also loved, Eric Johnson, Robert Johnson both of Oakland, CA; Jessica Gordon and Felicia Jackson.

Maynord worked at Superior Steel, Ferguson Monuments, and Ponderosa Steakhouse. Maynord was a member of Kingdom Life Global Ministries (which later merged and became Bethel Christian Restoration Center), were he was baptized in Jesus’ name for the remission of his sins, in 2012 under the spiritual leadership of his brother-n-law, Pastor Andre Palmer.

Maynord was preceded in death by both paternal and maternal grand- parents and his father, Maynord Elliott Boyd Sr.

Cherishing his fond memories: he leaves his devoted, faithful mother, Earlie Boyd; eleven (11) siblings: James (Robin) Boyd, Erie, PA; Karl (Linda) Boyd, Deborah (Ron)Johnson, Kevin (Rochelle)Boyd, Linda (Jeffery) Moss, Denise Davis, Joyce (Andre) Palmer all of Benton Harbor, MI; Michael Boyd, Lester (Linda) Boyd, Florenda (Robert) Booth and Vanessa (James) Mays all of Dallas, TX; three (3) children; Paris Boyd, Elliott Boyd and Farrall Boyd, six (6) grand-children: Cameron, Camariah, Ce’Veon, and C’Myah Boyd and Gregory and Aiden Boyd-Rimpson all of Benton Harbor, MI and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
