
David Michael Randolph, 68, of Stevensville, passed away on May 1, 2018, at Royalton Manor, St. Joseph, MI.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 11am, at Stevensville Campus-First Church of God, 5767 Red Arrow Hwy., Stevensville, with Pastor Chris Spitters officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 10AM until time of service at the church on May 8, 2018. Memorial contributions may be made to Central Michigan University Alumni Association. David was born on May 17, 1949, to J.B. & Mae (Tipton) Randolph in Erwin, TN. He went to East Detroit High School. He continued his education at Central Michigan University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree. At Eastern Michigan University he earned his Master’s Degree and was working on his Doctorate Degree at Wayne State University. On August 15, 1970, David married Nancy Hanson at the First United Methodist Church in Rockford, MI.
David’s 30 yr. career in education began in 1971. He was a teacher and coach. In addition, he wrote “On Sports” for the Anchor Bay Beacon as Sports Editor. He went on to be assistant principal at Anchor Bay H.S., New Baltimore, MI. The last seven years of his career were spent as principal at Marysville Jr. High, Marysville, MI. In 2001, he and Nancy retired to their home at Higgins Lake, MI. During retirement, he wrote “Sports Stuff” for the Roscommon County Herald News. David enjoyed reading, golfing, boating, and watching sports. Friends and family were his joys.
David is survived by his wife of 47 years, Nancy; daughter Jennifer (Kevin) Steinbaker of Stevensville; grandchildren, Addison Mae Steinbaker and Taylor Grace Steinbaker; and siblings, Jeff (Laura) Randolph) of Clinton Township, MI, Sheila (Dennis) Harris of Washington Township, MI and Rebecca Randolph of East Point, MI.
David was preceded in death by his parents, J.B & Mae Randolph.
