Charles Shoemaker, 76, of Niles, passed away at Lakeland Community Hospital in Niles on Saturday, August 18, 2018.
He was born in Mishawaka, Indiana to the late Robert and Sarah (Brown) Shoemaker.
On July 27, 1962, Charles married the love of his life, Serena Tiller at a ceremony in Niles. Charles was retired after many years with Tyler Refrigeration. He was a gifted woodworker, enjoyed fishing and mostly, time spent with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Nancy Wogoman and Pricilla Young.
Charles is survived by his wife, Serena Shoemaker of Niles; a daughter, Lori (Tom) Anthony of Mattawan; grandchildren, Amanda (David) Reed of Paw Paw and Neko (Caitlin) Anthony of Mattawan; eight great-grandchildren; siblings, Robert (Faye) Shoemaker of Niles, Joy (Tom) Dell of Niles and Rose Zehner of Niles.
His family will gather to remember him privately at a later date.
