On October 12, 1957, she married the love of her life and grade school sweetheart, Terry Mensinger and together they celebrated over sixty wonderful years of marriage. Janice enjoyed gardening on their beautiful farm, baking her signature coffee cakes and kringle, taking camping trips up north, watching her beloved Cubs with her family, hosting large family reunions, and cheering on her children and grandchildren in their life endeavors.

Janice was a third grade teacher at Stewart Elementary, and later worked as a substitute teacher while raising her children. She also worked at Country Mates Gift Shop in New Buffalo. Janice was an active lifelong member of her beloved Zion United Church of Christ in Baroda, where she was formerly employed as church secretary, sang in the choir, was director of the Sunday school and vacation bible school. She was instrumental in providing much history for the church’s 100th Anniversary celebration.
