Loretta Agnew Drolet

Loretta Agnew Drolet, age 101, died July 26, 2018. She ran out of energy a few days before her 102nd birthday.

Born August 15, 1916, Loretta grew up in Duluth, Minnesota. Hearing the tales from all her siblings over the years, it was a lively household of four boys and two girls. She met her husband of 53 years, John J Drolet, at the USO in Monahans, Texas during the World War II. They danced a lot during that courtship and she was still dancing at 100. Together they raised their two children, Joseph and Marie, in Detroit, Michigan.

Loretta and John retired to Birch Lake, Michigan where they enjoyed family and friends around the lake for years. They traveled in the winters and spent some of that time in Dallas, Texas with Marie and her husband Ed. It was in Dallas where John died in 1998.

Twelve years ago, Loretta moved to St. Annes Retirement Community in Columbia, Pennsylvania. Her son Joseph and daughter-in law Kay, their children and grandchildren lived just down the street, so she had a rich family life and good friends at St. Annes.

Her family and friends will miss her and will be comforted by great memories of this loving and gracious woman.

Family and friends will gather Friday, August 24, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. for a Graveside farewell in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Cassopolis, Michigan.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funerals, Cassopolis. Please share a memory or a message online.
