Paul Frese, 96, of Dowagiac, passed away, Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Caretel Inns of Lakeland in St. Joseph. Arrangements are entrusted to Clark Chapel, Dowagiac.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Apostolic Lighthouse Church, 30402 M-62 West, Dowagiac, with Pastor Casey Helmuth officiating. Burial will follow at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens, Niles, Michigan, with Military Rites conducted. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. Paul was born September 28, 1921 in Kenosha, Wisconsin to Fred & Natalie (Weisse) Frese. Paul served his country during WWII in the United States Army. On July 3, 1949 he married the former Violet Herter in Kenosha. In 1961, Paul moved to Dowagiac and soon after founded Frese Discount, which he operated until 1999 when his son Fred became the owner. Paul devoted his life to his work and never fully retired. He was a member of the Apostolic Lighthouse Church.
Paul is survived by his son Fred (Kendra) Frese of Stevensville; two grandsons-Tyler Frese of Dowagiac & Kyle Frese of Stevensville; and his brother Reinhold Frese of Kenosha. He was preceded in death by his wife Violet, five brothers & three sisters
