Ruthie M Hartz

Ruthie Mae Hartz, 82 of Benton Harbor departed this life August 21, 2018 at Lakeland Medical Center, St. Joseph.

Ruthie was born October 12, 1935 in Augusta, Ark to George Bryant and Leatta Woodruff. Ruthie relocated to Eau Claire and married Robert Grandberry Sr. She began her career as an Environmental Associate for many years and retired from Lakeland Medical Center in 2014. Ruthie loved calling her kids and her sister to make sure everyone was okay. In 1993 Ruthie married Billy J. Hartz and remained married for twenty-five years until her demise. She was a member of the Blue Roof Church for many years.

Ruthie is survived by her husband, Billy J. Hartz; children, Dorothy Gentry, Randy (Kandi) Grandberry; Rosie (John) Johnson; Ricky (Christine) Grandberry and Sandra Grandberry; sister, Elise Adams; eighteen grandchildren; fifty-five great grandchildren; thirty-five great great grandchildren; special friend Rosemary Edwards; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends;
Ruthie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Grandberry Sr.; daughter, Kathy Eddie; sons, Robert Grandberry Jr. and William Lee Grandberry; sisters, Nettie B. Bryant, Georgia Lee Bryant, Annie Mae Bradley and Georgia Mae Bradley; brothers, George Bryant, Clifford Bryant Sr., Eugene Bryant Sr., Freddie Lee Bradley and William Bryant Sr.; sister-in-law, Marcella Smith.
