
Eddie Lee Foriest, Sr., 77, of Benton Township died Monday, November 2, 2020, at his home.
Services celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 12, at the Fairplain Chapel of Florin Funeral Service in Benton Township with Pastor Diane Singh officiating. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Eddie was born on September 13, 1943 in Portageville, MO to Mack and Mary Foriest. He was a graduate of BHHS and holds an Associate Degree from LMC. In 1966 he married his wife, Lorraine Hurse, and she preceded him in death in 2013. Together they celebrated 47 years of marriage. Eddie was a longtime member of the Greater Grace Temple where he was Head Deacon also known as the Pastor’s Assistant. Over the years he was also a Sunday School Teacher and led the Bible Study. Eddie retired in 1990 as foreman after 43 years of employment at Weil-McClain Company. He enjoyed going to the BHHS Sports and was a gentle, caring and loving individual. Eddie was a man of few words. He loved reading the Bible and spending time with his family.
His family includes his children, Darold Foriest of Atlanta, Jarold (Dorothy) Foreist of Houston, Tx., Eddie Foriest, Jr., of Mesa, Az., and Marlene Foriest of Clarksville, TN; his 13 grandchildren; his 5 great-grandchildren, and special friend Glenda F. Harris. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Arlene, his son, Victor, his brother, Mack and his 2 sisters, Gracie and Louise.
