Betty was born September 15, 1952 in Ratahan, North Sulawesi, South of Manado City.

Betty had eight siblings, five preceded her in death. She is survived by her three sisters: Itje, Selvie, and Masye Kaumpungan. Itje and her husband, Jacobus Wilson, are in Airmadidi, North Sulawesi. Selvie lives in Florida. Masye and her husband, Joetje Komalig, are in Papua New Guinea.

Betty is also survived by her two daughters, Eka and Any. Eka and her husband, Dede Lumintang, reside in New York. Any lives in Berrien Springs. Betty had two granddaughters, Abigail and Sasa; and a grandson, Renaldi Raranta, who is a sophomore in Theology major of Klabat University.

Betty was married to Wenny Mawuntu on October 1999. She was blessed with four stepsons: Enrile, Andrew, Averil who is married to Valencia, and Alvin. Betty became their second mother and loved them like her own. Betty and Wenny were retired and were traveling a lot.

Betty had many talents, a jack of all trades some may say. Betty loved to cook and loved to feed people. Cooking was one of her love languages. She loved traveling. She loved God and was a devoted church member. She cut many people’s hair. She loved gardening. Every flower and plant she put in the ground flourished beautifully.

Betty Mawuntu-Kaumpungan, 68, died at noon, Sunday, September 5, 2021 at Bayfront Health Brooksville in Brooksville, Florida. She would have been 69 today, September 15, 2021. We look forward to see her on the bright morning when Jesus comes.
