Charles “Lee” Bush, 83, of Benton Harbor, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021 at Spectrum Hospital in St. Joseph.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma. Burial will follow at Millburg Cemetery. Visitation will precede the service from 11 – 1 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the Watervliet Rod & Gun Club.

Lee was born August 24, 1938 in Benton Harbor, Michigan to Clarence and Erna Bush. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1956. Shortly thereafter at age 17, Lee and three friends took an adventure of a lifetime as they traveled the road from Millburg to Alaska and began his lifetime of love for travel. He and Rachel Reynolds, whom he met while working at his uncle’s gas station, were married on June 27, 1958. Lee built their own home on the Millburg family farm where the couple resided most of their lives.

Lee had worked at Whirlpool for 20 years in the accounting department prior to opening his own business Telecom Systems. That later merged with another firm known as BTS Telecom where he was co-owner until retirement. Lee was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing and hunting, especially duck hunting. He was a member of the Watervliet Rod and Gun Club and a NRA Endowment Member.

Lee is survived by his daughter Lorelei Bush of Benton Harbor and his son Lowell (Wendy) Bush of St. Joseph; grandchildren Nick, Bray, Danny and Dale; and his significant other Ilda Wolske.

He was preceded in death by his wife Rachel in 2014 and his parents.
