Brenda K. Jacobs, 72, of Niles, passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana.
She was born in Niles, Michigan on June 4, 1949, to the late Lewis J. and Betty R. Syson.
Brenda graduated from Niles High School in 1967. On December 26, 1978, she married James Jacobs at the Chapin Mansion in Niles. Brenda retired from Simplicity Pattern Company after working there for forty-one years; she was one of the last accountants to leave after the business had shut down.
She was very involved with the Babe Ruth Softball organization, and most all of the Niles High School athletic groups. Brenda volunteered many hours, baking, cooking meals, selling tickets, and working the entrance gates. She was a Junior Achievement Leader for several years. Brenda loved preparing meals for large events, whether it was a banquet, a wedding, or just a family get-together.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Danielle Graham, her brothers; Donald and John Syson.
Brenda is survived by her children, Kelly (Darrell) Gatchel of Coloma; Sherry Lintz of Pensacola, Florida; Michele (Sid) Clark of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; eight grandchildren; Zachary, Marla, Joseph(Bo), Richelle(Tommy), Brian, Keith, Keigan(Amy), Maddie, five great-grandchildren; Kylie, Jonah, Lucy, Hailey, Ava; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place.
Brenda’s amazing home-baked cookies, and healing chicken noodle soup will be deeply missed.
