Sally Lee Wolske

Sally (Wakefield) Wolske was born November 4, 1934 in Benton Harbor, Michigan, the daughter of Lloyd and Leota (Hodge) Wakefield. She passed away November 19, 2021 peacefully at home at the age of 87.

Funeral services will be Monday, November 22, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sodus. Friends may visit beginning at 10 a.m., and the service will follow at 11 a.m. with Reverend Robert Duehlmeyer officiating. Burial will be in Shanghai Cemetery, Eau Claire. She was active in 4-H with her children in Berrien County and grandchildren in Cass County. She loved horses and had one most of her life, along with numerous dogs and cats. She also loved nature and could name every plant, flower and tree. Sally would collect rocks wherever she went and lined her flower beds with them. She had a big vegetable garden every year and she would can, freeze and make jams for the winter months. Sewing and knitting were also her passions.

Sally was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sodus for 62 years.

Her husband, Paul, preceded her in death on December 11, 2009.

She is survived by her three children: Kathy (Gary) McCormick, Deborah Wolske and Matt (Shawn) Wolske; two sisters: Sandra Vladic and Charlene Patzkowsky; and her brother, Lloyd Wakefield. She has six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
