Ronald Kenneth Sandburg

November 11, 1932 – December 10, 2021

Ronald Kenneth Sandburg, 89 of Niles, passed away after an illness in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka.

Ron was born on November 11, 1932 in Sandstone, MN to the late Sam and Olga Sandburg. He is also preceded in death by his daughter, Sherry Ruth Sandburg in 2004 and his siblings, Mabel Lloyd, Alice Lloyd, Ethel Trap, Russell Sandburg and Ruth Rabe.

In 1954 Ron married Bonnie Gregory who survives.

Together they have celebrated 67 years of marriage.

Left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren, Gloria Rose Sheree’ and Benjamin Michael Sandburg Miller.

Ron honorably served in the United States Air Force for 20 years.  He then worked for Northern Electric Company as a Salesman for 20 years.

Ron was an accomplished artist who enjoyed painting nature and landscapes. He was also a talented singer. Ron and Bonnie loved to travel together in their motorhome.

A Funeral Service for Ron will be held at a later date with Military Honors.

Burial will be in Smith Chapel Cemetery.
