Veronica Canizares was born on September 1st, 1994, to Lazaro and Ana Canizares in Tracy, Minnesota. Veronica was brought to Michigan by her parents when she was only 4 years old.

Veronica was a strong woman who had a huge heart. She always managed to help anyone in need even when she had nothing for herself. She will be remembered for her loving smile and her beautiful caring heart. Veronica was the type of person who was everyone’s rock and had your back regardless of the situation. She was so strong and battled cancer for 2 years until her battle came to an end and her body could no longer fight. The last week of life was the best. Filled with the memories of her nieces and nephews laughing and playing. She could hear the happiness and that was what she wanted and that’s what she heard.

As a young child, her parents would take her blueberry picking. As her parent would work, she would sit under the blueberries and eat them all and say, “I am not made to work outside” We will cherish all the moments and memories we have of her. Her life was cut short however her memory will be forever.

She is survived by her husband Jose Luis Mata, Her three siblings Gabriella Canizares (Efren Rangel brother-in-law), Scott Canizares and Jose Canizares her four nephews Angel Hernandez, Jesus Canizares, Kaiser Canizares, her six nieces Daniella Canizares, Itzamarai Rangel, Jahaira Rangel, Natalia Rangel, and Ana Canizares
