A’mari Steffon Baltimore, was born to Latoya Brooks and Silistia Baltimore, on December 7, 1996, in Ft. Lewis WA.   He departed this life peacefully on January 22, 2022, in Concord CA.

A’mari received his formal education in Benton Harbor Area Schools until middle school, after which he relocated to California and graduated from College Park High School, in Pleasant Hill California.  A’mari was an exceptional baseball player and had a love for the game that was unprecedented.  His love for the game started as a t-ball and little league player for the Benton Harbor Parks and Recreation Department and followed him through college, where Diablo Valley College played.

In addition to baseball, A’mari loved his family.  He understood at an early age the importance of loving and being a protector of those he loved, especially his mother, sisters, and little Xavier.   You could always count on A’mari’s crooked grin, high-pitched laugh, and playful nature to brighten any room he entered.

A’mari leaves to cherish his memory the love of his life and childhood sweetheart, Melea Lewis, son Xavier Roi Baltimore.  His parents Latoya and David Brooks, Silistia and Cara Baltimore.  Grandparents; Denise & Charles Clark, Dale Sams, Edna Baltimore & Jo Evelyn Sams.  Five sisters; Tiarra & Tamara Baltimore, Karisma & Jayda Brooks, & Chandra West.  One brother; Silistia Baltimore II and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfathers, John C. Sams II, & Lawrence Franklin, paternal grandfather, Raymond Baltimore.  Maternal grandmothers; Sarah Hureskin & Laura Morris, best friend’s J.R. Santiago, and Kobe Baltimore.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Robbins Brothers Funeral Home, Benton Harbor.
