David P. “Dave” Harte, 63, of Hartford, passed away, Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo.

A Celebration of Life Service will be planned and announced at a later date. Dave was born July 29, 1958 in Marquette, Michigan to Donald & Nancy (Rittase) Harte.  He graduated from Lawrence High School, Class of 1976 and attended Lake Michigan College.  Dave served his country in the United States Navy.  He worked for many years at Custom Tool & Die in Stevensville. However, Dave’s passion was caring for horses.  He operated a farrier service at his farm in Hartford for the last 30 years, trimming and shoeing horses for all those in need.  He also enjoyed training, riding, showing and breeding horses.  He was a very proud, independent, patriotic, loving and generous man. Dave enjoyed helping anyone he could in anyway possible.  He was a devoted Detroit Tigers & Lions fan.  He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Dave is survived by his daughter Candace Harte and her husband Brandon Rybolt of Baroda; his granddaughter Ryleigh Rybolt; his parents-Nancy Harte of Niles & his father Donald Harte of Hartford; his former wife and Candace’s mother Elizabeth Glenn of Bridgman; three sisters-Carol (Steve) Weatherford of Vicksburg, MI, Kathy (Michael) Elsner of Coloma; Mary Quinones of Benton Harbor; nieces & nephews-David Weatherford, Rachel (Dakota) Dunn, Walter (Kassandra) Elsner, Caroline Elsner, Daniel (Kera) Quinones, Madeline, Kathleen, Joseph, Andrew, William & Hannah Quinones; and numerous nieces & nephews from Elizabeth’s family.
