Ella May Covey passed away on January 31, 2022, one day before her 98 th birthday, in Englewood, FL.
She was born in San Diego on February 1, 1924, to Birdie (Gregory) Reynolds and Frank Reynolds.
She lost both of her parents when she was only 3 years old. She and her three siblings were then raised in Covert, MI, by her maternal Grandparents, Maude and William Gregory.
She married Robert Covey in 1941 and enjoyed 60 years of marriage to him until he passed. Together, they built 3 homes, two in South Haven, MI, where they raised their five children. In retirement, their third house was in Englewood, FL, but they would return to South Haven for the summers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and her first born daughter, Bonnie, (William), Poindexter.
She leaves behind four children: Kathleen, (Max), Poindexter, Betty, (Thomas), Bongiorno, Robert Covey, II, and Rebecca, (Todd Block), Covey.
Also, she leaves nine Grandchildren who cherish her participation in their lives: Cindy (David), Ewing, William Poindexter, Jr, Tammy Daily; Shelly, (Dennis), Hartman, Max Poindexter, Jr, Hillary, (Matt), Fisher; Stacy, (Heather), Jones, Heather, (Michael), DiCosola; Christy, (Greg), Daw. She also leaves 23 Great Grandchildren and 11 Great, Great Grandchildren!
All can agree that she will be greatly missed but will keep her in our hearts with many happy memories and gratitude for her and the example she set.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Lemon Bay Funeral Home in Englewood, FL.
Private services are to be held at a later date.
