LaMar Francis Trapp, 85, of Baroda passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, April 6, 2023.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Trinity Lutheran Church of Glendora, 1733 W. Glendora Road. Buchanan, MI 49107, with Reverend Jonathan Liebich, officiating. Friends may meet with the family from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, The Boyd Chapel, 9191 Red Arrow Hwy, Bridgman, MI 49106. LaMar was born on January 19, 1938 in Baroda, the son of the late Paul and Elizabeth (Oppermann) Trapp, the youngest of nine children. On April 23, 1960 he married LaVerne Schmaltz and they shared 62 years together. LaMar was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Glendora. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. LaMar worked at Auto Specialties, Krieger’s Nursery, and later retired from South Shore Tool and Die. He also took great care and pride of his lawn.

Survivors include his wife: LaVerne; son: Joel Trapp; and a sister: Betty Gaul; sisters-in-law: Judy (Lyle) Lebsack and Sandy (Bob) Dixon and a host of nieces and nephews who called him Uncle Pork.

LaMar was also preceded in death by his brothers: Harold, Lyman, Charles Trapp; his sisters: Loretta Hocott, Marcella Reitz, Evelyn Reitz, Aldythe Zech; sister-in-law: Norma (Ray) Freehling; and brother-in-law: Alan Schmaltz.
