Melisa Sue (Davis) Moore, 44, of Battle Creek, passed away at Oaklawn Hospital on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, following a lengthy battle with her health.

Melisa was born on March 27, 1979, to Ronald and Brenda (Chadwick) Davis in Battle Creek.

She will be remembered for being a kind-loving person that was devoted to God and her family. Melisa was a faithful member of New Hope Apostolic Church in Battle Creek. Melisa’s grandparents took her to church from a very young age.

Melisa enjoyed traveling. South Carolina and Tennessee were trips she took often throughout childhood, and into her adult life, sharing those priceless travels with her children and family. One of Melisa’s most cherished trips is the one she took with her mother to Sydney, Australia

She was an amazing cook. Her favorite times were spent in the kitchen, making each dish with love. She spent many Sundays in the kitchen alongside her grandmother; soaking in every recipe. She took in the role of cook and hostess graciously. She enjoyed baking as well, often her phenomenal jello cakes being personally requested.

Melisa was very talented! She loved to sing & had a beautiful voice. She enjoyed singing in the choir, karaoke or in the car, she was always singing.

She also enjoyed painting. Enjoyed going to canvas events, and the master pieces she made. Often making her creations into decor and gifts.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Oakley Sue Davis; and her brother, Timothy Davis.

Melisa is survived by her parents, Brenda Harley and Ronald Davis; children, Gabriel Boody of Ypsilanti, Michigan and Elijah Davis of Battle Creek; siblings, Ashley (Joe Johnson) Davis of Battle Creek, Stacie (Shane Sells) Davis of Battle Creek, and Kyle Chadwick of Battle Creek; four nieces, Gwendolyn (Davis) Morrow, Breana Gaskell, Madison Davis, MahKenzie Thompson; four nephews, Dionicio Leven, Ausencio Arriaga, Ryan Thompson, Rylind Thompson; two great nephews, Bentlee Morrow, Jaxon Morrow; along with many extended family members, and close friends.

A memorial service to celebrate and honor Melisa’s life will be held on Monday, May 8, 2023 at New Hope Apostolic Church at 6:00 p.m. Pastor Scarlett Fleury will be officiating.
