In Loving Memory of Cherece Sims a Beautiful Soul
Cherece was born on December 14, 1984, in Benton Harbor, Michigan to Augusta and the late Brenda Daniels. After bravely battling sickle cell disease, she went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 3, 2024, with her family and friends by her side. She was 39 years old.
Cherece affectionally known as “ReRe” was a radiant presence in the lives of all who knew her. Her infectious laughter and unwavering optimism touched the hearts of everyone she encountered. Despite the challenges she faced due to her illness, she approached life with grace, courage, and a joyous spirit that inspired everyone, ReRe was always the “Life of the Party”.
Cherece attended Benton Harbor High School where she created many friendships that will last a lifetime. Cherece proudly graduated with the fearless class of 2003 with her long-term friends, “the Swauve Gyrls”. With this group of ladies, although Cherece was the tiniest, she was also the BIG SISTER of the group, and they developed a lifelong sisterhood. Although she held different job positions, being a “Teacher’s Assistant” was one that truly lifted her heart. She grew a genuine love for the students, and they loved her back.
Cherece took great pride in being a mother to her beautiful children and they were number one in her life. Cherece brought joy and light into the world from the very beginning. Her kindness knew no bounds, and her compassion extended to everyone she met. She had a natural ability to uplift others, offering words of encouragement and comfort even in her own times of struggle.
Throughout her life, Cherece refused to let sickle cell disease define her. She pursued her passions with determination, whether it was her love for people or spending time with her cherished friends and family. Her resilience in the face of adversity served as a beacon of hope for those facing similar challenges.
Cherece’s presence will be deeply missed by her loving family and the precious memories of Cherece’s life will forever live in the hearts of her three children, Ri’hanna Green, Ayden Yarbrough, and Mason Green of Benton Harbor, MI.
