Anthony Richard Coughenour, aged 70, of Edwardsburg, Michigan, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2024. He was born on March 28, 1954, in South Bend, Indiana.

Anthony grew up in the heart of Indiana, where he cultivated a strong work ethic and a passion for history. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry Coughenour and Georgia (Baker) Holcomb. Throughout his life, Anthony was a dedicated welder and painter, professions that showcased his meticulous attention to detail and his unwavering commitment to craftsmanship.

Beyond his professional life, Anthony was deeply involved in Civil War Reenactments, a hobby that allowed him to combine his love for history with his love for the great outdoors. He traveled to several states to participate in these reenactments, bringing history to life for many to appreciate. He especially enjoyed taking trips to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania to explore and see all the surrounding sites of the battlefield. His passion for the past was matched only by his love for nature, often seen riding around in search of deer or taking his beloved dogs to the park to play soccer.

An avid reader, Anthony could always be found with a book in hand, immersing himself in stories and knowledge. Anthony was also a fan of NASCAR, enjoying the thrill of the races.

He is survived by his sons, Anthony (Kristen) Coughenour and Travis (MaryJo) Coughenour, who will remember him as a loving and supportive father. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, Sophia and Barrett, who brought immense joy and laughter to his later years. Anthony also maintained a respectful and caring relationship with his ex-wife, Patti Coughenour, with whom he shared many treasured memories. His siblings will miss him immensely, Sue Brown, Terry Elliott, Ricky Coughenour, and Diane Funkhouser. His sister, Robin Cole preceded him in death.

Anthony has been cremated and service will be held later this spring.
