Gloriastine (Bedford) Darby, 76, of Niles, Michigan, passed peacefully from this life to be with the Lord Monday, April 1st, at Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital in Niles, Michigan.
Gloria was born August 9, 1947, in St. Louis, Missouri to Charles Bedford and Gearldine (Wooten) Jones and was a long-time area resident of Niles, Michigan. Gloria was preceded in death by her Father Charles Bedford, her Mother Gearldine (Leon) Jones, her Uncle Joseph, and Aunt Lillie Bennett of Niles, Michigan. Gloria is survived by her husband, James Darby of 22 years; her son, Nathaniel Duane Bedford Sr. of Niles, Michigan; her two grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Forestine (Charles) McCuien of Waterford, Michigan and Kimberly Jones of Saginaw, Michigan; a host of relatives, friends and her best friend, Carlena “Mickey” Lawrence.
Gloria was a member of New Vision Assembly Church in Niles, Michigan. She enjoyed knitting blankets and cooking for her family.
Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 11, 2024, at New Vision Assembly Church, 819 Lake Street, Niles, Michigan, with Bishop Carlton D. Burrel Sr. officiating.
