Arlene Grace McNett, 87, of Decatur, passed away on Friday evening, April 5, 2024 at her home. She was born on September 26, 1936, in Beaverton, MI, to Earl Henry and Grace Elizabeth (Shaw) Covell. On July 20, 2002, she was married to William A. McNett.
Arlene was very outspoken and everyone always knew what she was thinking. She loved camping, crocheting and making flower arrangements. Arlene loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Surviving are her two children – Debra (Donald) Ecie and Alfred Hurd; five step-children – Debrah (Dennis) Coder, Cindy (David) McNeese, Nancy (James) Bobo, Cinamin (Robert) Colletti, and Dionne (Russell) Couchman; six grandchildren – Patricia Keiser, Donald Hurd, William (Corinne) Hurd, Samantha (Jimmy) Rose, Benny (Jamie) Smith and Evan Swan; ten great-grandchildren – Justin, Michaela, Catelynn, Rachel, Matthew, Jacob, Nathan, Emily, Charles Jr, and Nominee; seven great-great-grandchildren – Jay, Braelynn, Oakleigh, Leiland, Aaliyah, Kayson and Ryker; four siblings – Gary (Sandra) Covell, Dewayne (Brenda) Covell, Donna (Louis) Carroll, Phyllis Finley; several step-grandchildren and their families and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband; parents; and seven brothers – Alvie, Earl, Vern, Donald, Delos, Gerald and Darl; and two sisters – Leona and Marilyn.
A service to celebrate Arlene’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 13, at Newell Chapel and Cremation,
