Marion Louise Young, 92, peacefully passed away in her home on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 in Niles, Michigan with her granddaughter, Bethany at her side.
Marion was born on November 20, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Fred Marshall and Dorothy M. (Hollenbeck) Marshall.
Along with her parents, Marion was preceded in death by her loving husband, John R. Young; brother, Fred Marshall Jr. and sister, Dorothy Riegel.
Left to cherish the memory of Marion is her son, William Bonham; grandchildren, Bethany (Trevor) Luther, Jane Bonham, Emily Bonham, and Jacob Bonham; great-grandchildren, Adisyne Galloway and Lilah Galloway; daughter-in-law, Deborah Bonham, and sister, Beth Ann Maples.
Marion’s sense of humor and adorable personality left a lasting imprint on all who knew her. Her days were filled with the joy of gardening, the tranquility of swimming, the adventure of walking, and the camaraderie of her social clubs, which all painted the portrait of a life lived with zest and genuine happiness.
Marion’s laughter was a remedy to the world around her, frequently sparking delight and lightening the hearts of friends and family alike. She will be fondly remembered as a woman who never lost the twinkle in her eye or the infectious chuckle that could brighten the dreariest of days.
In her final years, Marion found comfort and care in the hands of her loving caregivers, Bethany and Trevor. They returned the love she had always given, making her last moments as beautiful as the life she led. Marion’s absence will be deeply felt, yet her spirit will continue to inspire joy and kindness in the hearts of all who were privileged to know her. Her legacy is a testament to a life well-loved and a woman well-remembered.
Per Marion’s wishes, there will be no services held at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
