Leona A. “Lonnie” Schuelke, 83, of Buchanan, passed away away on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at her daughters home in Buchanan.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Friday, August 9, 2024, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 509 West 4th St., Buchanan. Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Buchanan. Visitation will be held from 6-7 pm on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at Swem Chapel, 301 W. Front St., Buchanan, MI. Memorial contributions in Lonnie’s name may be made to Redbud Area Ministries (RAM). Lonnie was born on October 24, 1940, to Amos and Helen (Ball) Pulcher in Chester, PA. She graduated from Chester High School in 1958. On December 8, 1962, she married Richard Schuelke in Chester, PA.
Lonnie has been a faithful member of St. Anthony Catholic church for over 45 years. She was also an avid supporter of Redbud Area Ministries.
She enjoyed gardening, doing crossword puzzles, her cat, Molly and having lunch with her dear friends at Pizza Hut. Most of all, Lonnie cherished time spent with her family, especially with her grandchildren.
Lonnie is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Lene) Mollberg of Buchanan; sons, Mark (Patti) Schuelke of Stevensville, Michael (Samantha) Schuelke of Union and Matthew (Kim) Schuelke of Cassopolis; grandchildren, Amanda (Matt) Bradley, Sarah (Steve) Zwar, Brady Mollberg, Britta Mollberg, Cameron Schuelke, Claire Schuelke, Callie Schuelke, Micah Schuelke and Matthew Schuelke; great-grandchildren, Preston Akers, Hunter Zwar, Caden Zwar, Paxton Zwar, Mia Bradley and Alaina Bradley; sister, Jean Hague-Gray and brother, Robert Pulcher. She was preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Helen Pulcher; husband of 32 years, Richard Schuelke on December 21, 1994 and siblings, Emily Micka and Jack Gontarz.
