We celebrate the life of Al Eugene Corzine, who was born on April 5, 1938, and was received into Heaven on April 16, 2025. Al lived a life full of love, service, and family — the things he held most dear.
In 1982, Al met the love of his life, Judi Corzine. Together, they shared 33 beautiful years of partnership, love, and laughter. Their bond was one of deep friendship and shared purpose.
Al served proudly with the Benton Harbor Fire Department for 21 years, rising to the rank of Captain. To his fire crew, he was simply known as “Capt,” a title he carried with honor, dedication, and humility.
Among his proudest roles in life was being “Pa” to his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him endless joy and love.
Known to many as “the tax man,” Al and Judi prepared income taxes side-by-side for over 30 years — a testament to their teamwork and commitment to helping others.
Al found happiness in the simple pleasures of life — mornings spent with a hot cup of coffee, gazing out the picture window, camping trips with family, and mowing the four acres he took such pride in. These quiet moments brought him peace and grounded him in gratitude.
Al is lovingly remembered by his brother Bobbie Corzine, his children: Debbie (Kenny) Strain, Robin Hanner, Cindy Gales, Shelley (Roger) Mazigian, Terry (Shawn) Lampros, and Chris (Kim) Corzine. He also leaves behind countless memories and a legacy of love that will continue to be felt by those who knew him. He is survived by his loyal companion, Killer, who never left his side.
Al was welcomed into Heaven by his beloved wife Judi, his parents, his sons Lee Hanner and Mark Corzine, and his daughter Jessica Hanner-Corzine and 2 brothers Johnny and Jimmie Corzine.
His memory lives on in the hearts of all who loved him.
