Elaine Gibson, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on February 13, 2026, in Niles, Michigan. Born on February 2, 1935, in Baroda, Michigan, Elaine was the loving daughter of the late Henry and Elsie (Rosentrater) Klann. Her gentle spirit and loving nature left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Elaine graduated from Niles High School in 1952, a foundation that led her to embrace her lifelong roles with grace and dedication. On October 18, 1952, she married the love of her life, David R. Gibson, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Niles. Their union was blessed with love, laughter, and a beautiful family. Elaine’s heart was a beacon of love for her family Surviving is her husband, her four devoted children, Pamela (Dennis) Hamilton, Mark (Michelle) Gibson, Dale (Shelly) Gibson, and Sarah (Thomas) Radford, a daughter-in-law, Ramona Gibson, as well as her ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren who will forever cherish her memory.

Elaine was preceded in death by her beloved son, Michael Gibson, and her dear sister, Jeanette Warda. She is also survived by her brother, Kurt (Rose) Klann of Niles, who, along with the rest of the family, will miss her deeply.

A homemaker most of her life, Elaine was the heart of her home, a place where love and care were always in abundance. Her hands, often busy with the tasks of canning and gardening, were also extended in service to her church community. As a lifetime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Elaine’s faith was evident through her active participation in the Ladies Aid and various other ministries. Her Christian faith was the compass by which she navigated life, and it shone brightly in her every action.

Elaine’s interests extended beyond her home and church. She was an amazing cook whose recipes will be passed down for generations to come. Her garden was a testament to her patience and hard work, yielding produce that not only fed her family but also brought beauty to their surroundings. Above all, Elaine valued time spent with her family, cherishing every moment and creating memories that will be treasured forever.

Memorial contributions may be made in Elaine’s memory to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at 1340 Sycamore Street, Niles, Michigan 49120.

Funeral services will be celebrated at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Niles on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Michael Holmen officiating. A time of visitation will be held at the church one-hour prior. An interment will follow at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens in Niles.
