
Betty Mae Wisneski, age 86, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026. She was born on May 16, 1939, in Pigeon, Michigan, and made her home in St. Joseph, Michigan, where she moved in the 1960s and built a life filled with family, friendship, and adventure.
Betty lived life with a remarkable sense of curiosity and joy, and she especially loved traveling with her family and friends. Her journeys took her from coast to coast across the United States, as well as to Mexico, Rio de Janeiro, Europe, and on numerous memorable cruises. These shared experiences became treasured memories for all who traveled with her.
Professionally, Betty was a dedicated insurance agent for 35 years. Starting at the John DeVries Agency before proudly owning and operating Apple Insurance Agency until her retirement in 1998. Known for her warmth, integrity, and commitment to her clients, she built lasting relationships throughout her career.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Thaddeus Wisneski, and her sisters Donna and Janie.
She is survived by her loving children: Patty (Don) Burns, Jeff Wisneski, and Brian (Tammy) Wisneski; her six grandchildren: Ryan, Nicole, Sarah, Carley, Tiffany, and Kelsey; and her great grandchildren: Everly, Josie, Ben, Baylor and Theo. Her family meant everything to her, and she treasured every moment spent together.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Starks and Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd. St. Joseph, Michigan 49085. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Caring Circle Hospice. Betty will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, her kindness, and the deep love she had for her family. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched.
