Linda Sue Nekvasil, 81, of Galien, died peacefully, Sunday, May 10, 2026, in the comfort of her family’s’ presence.
Her life began August 27,1944 in Niles, Michigan, the eldest of four children born to Daniel and Bonnie Grafford. She married Richard Allen Nekvasil January 8, 1966 in New Buffalo. After fifty-eight years of marriage, he preceded her in death.
Linda will be most remembered for her obsession with Elvis and love of shopping. Through her life she always enjoyed being around people and especially spending time with her large family. The strength and stubbornness she showed were an inspiration to everyone she met.
Linda will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by three daughters, Deb (Wendell) Ford of Michigan City, Indiana, Dawn (Lee) Schelling of Michigan City, Indiana, Tami Kendall of Galien, twelve grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one sister, Pam Fender of Grandville, one brother Dale Grafford of Michigan City, Indiana, a special thanks to the care team at Gentiva Hospice, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, two daughters Rebecca Nekvasil and Niky Janas, and one brother Daniel Grafford.
Family and friends will gather Saturday, May 23, 2026 from 12:00 noon until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. in Wagner Family Funerals Pobocik Chapel, 106 Ash Street East, Three Oaks.
Linda will be laid to rest beside her husband in Galien Township Cemetery.
