
Patrick C. Hoffman, 71, of Stevensville, passed away, Saturday, May 14, 2016 at his home following a lengthy illness.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 2001 Niles Ave., St. Joseph with Rev. Dr. Robert Braman officiating. Friends may visit from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Thursday at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorial donations in Pat’s name may be made to First Congregational UCC. Pat was born May 7, 1945 in Fremont, Ohio to Richard & Marjorie (Meyer) Hoffman. He graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School in Fremont in 1963 and from Tiffin University in Tiffin, Ohio in 1968. Pat served his country in the United States Army National Guard. On May 4, 1974, he married the former Judith Clupper in St. Joseph. Pat was employed with Whirlpool Corporation, retiring in 1999 after 33 years. He was a member of First Congregational UCC in St. Joseph, Whirlpool Management Club & Golden Eagles, Stevensville American Legion Post #568, and Lake Michigan Golf Hills-where he enjoyed many a round of golf. Pat was an avid Notre Dame sports fan.
Pat is survived by his wife Judith; his daughter Heather (Tom Schmidt) Hoffman of Sawyer, MI; two brothers-Tim (Vicki) Hoffman of Fremont, OH, Terry (Lynn) Hoffman of Holland, OH; his brother-in-law Warren Bullard of Ocala, FL; several nieces & nephews; and his grand dogs in whose honor he donated his pacemaker & defibrillator to veterinary school for research. He was preceded in death by his daughter Alissa Hoffman in 1980, his parents, and his sister Debbie Bullard on February 25, 2016.
