military flagTheodore “Ted” Mutz, 84, of St. Joseph, MI passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Royalton Manor in St. Joseph.

 A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 26, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 619 Market St., St. Joseph with Pastor Michael Roth officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Friends and Family may visit from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Friday at the church. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.  Ted was born August 29, 1931 in St. Joseph, MI to Walter & Effie (Binger) Mutz. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1949. Ted then served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Ted was the owner of his own welding company. On August 21, 2013 he married Dorothy Dorow in St. Joseph. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he attended school, was baptized and confirmed. He also served as Elder, Deacon and Usher. Ted also served as a member for the Stevensville American Legion. Ted was an Avid Chicago Cubs fan who also enjoyed fishing, bowling and going to dinner with his wife.

 Ted is survived by his wife Dorothy Mutz; step-daughters Deb (David) Ostrander, Janet (Jerry) Helmker and Tami (Bob) Gelesko; sister Jane Jeffery; brothers Walt, Dale and Allen Mutz; and many nieces and nephews. Ted was preceded in death by his parents and first wife of 50 years Rowena (Raschke) Mutz.
