Odessia (Farrow) Moss was born in Caruthersville, MO September 17, 1928 to Fred Farrow and Susie Mae Cole. Odessia spent most of her young adult years in Chicago, IL. It was in Chicago she made her commitment to Jesus Christ being baptized in Jesus name and received the baptism of the Holy Ghost. Odessia served as a caregiver in the city of Chicago for many years before moving to join her family in Buchanan, MI.

Odessia was a loyal employee of the City of Buchanan, MI for many years, serving until her retirement. It was through her loyal employment she was able to purchase her home in Buchanan, MI and lived in for 50+ years, up until the decline of her health when she moved to Riveridge Manor in Niles, until her passing.

Odessia’s favorite past times and hobbies included fishing, quilting, cooking and baking; for which she was known for a most delicious coconut cake. She was a devout Christian,that was faithful to her place of worship. She could always be found serving in church providing food, popcorn and candy for the children.

Odessia was proceeded in death by her parents; three brothers, Jack Farrow, Otho Farrow, and Charlie Farrow; three sisters, Evelyn Farrow, Pearline Farrow, and Tammer Doze.

Odessia leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memory her sister, Jean Burns of Buchanan, MI; her Chippewa street neighbors, along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Odessia will be held at 10 am on Friday, January 8, 2021 at Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan, MI. Funeral service will begin at 11 am. In keeping with the current COVID-19 mandates, attendance will be limited, and masks will be required. Service may be viewed via live stream broadcast on Apostolic Christian Tabernacle Facebook page. Committal will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Buchanan, MI following the service. Memorial contributions may be made at www.hovenfunerals.com. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations are made in the name of Odessia Moss to the Buchanan Senior Center.
