Carol Sue Bristol, 75, of Niles, formerly Buchanan, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2016 at home with her family by her side.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7 P.M. Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Swem Chapel & Cremation Services, Buchanan. Friends may visit with the family prior to the service from 5-7 P.M. Private burial will take place at Oak Ridge Cemetery at a later date. Carol was born on September 8, 1941 in Springfield, MO. She graduated from Niles High School, class of 1959. Carol then went on to graduate from the South Bend College of Commerce. On June 13, 1964 she married Larry Bristol at a ceremony in Bertrand Bible Church, Niles. Carol worked at Pawating hospital, French Paper Company, and Lasalle Federal Savings Bank, now Edgewater Bank where she retired after almost twenty years of service. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, sewing, crafting, bird watching and painting pictures. Most of all, Carol loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Carol is survived by her husband of 52 years, Larry; two daughters, Laura (Scott Judy) Lausch and Pamela Kuntz both of Buchanan; four grandchildren, Jeremiah Lausch, Emily Kuntz, Lydia (Nick) Mitchell and Kody Kuntz; niece, Stephanie Coulter and nephew, Edward Artemik.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Fern Reum; step father, Douglas Reum and father, Paul Jones.
