Karen Denise Hamilton (affectionately known as Neecee) 60 of Benton Harbor, MI departed life on November 23, 2022, in Benton Harbor, MI. Karen was born on November 15, 1962, to the late Mattie Jackson and Hudie Whitfield in Chicago, IL.
At a point in her life, she accepted Christ and was a member of Reed Temple C.O.G.I.C. She was a willing and active participant in the community and an avid educator to all.
Neecee attended Benton Harbor High School and received her diploma in 1981. She was employed at Shoreline Nursing Home and Berrien General Nursing Home as a Nurse’s Aide. Neecee also operated a candy house, where she was known for having the best freeze cups on the street. She was a woman of many skills which included running a daycare, foster care, and cooking for the community.
She was passionate about family gatherings, cooking, and playing dominoes. She was a big inspiration and supportive advocate for her family. Neecee had an open-door policy, in which she didn’t turn anybody away.
She leaves to cherish her memories in (3) Daughters Nikita Williams, Rosa-Lee Hamilton, and Shawanda Hamilton; (7) Grandchildren Anjoli Youngblood, Maurice Williams, Mauzanay Williams, Aaviyon Williams, Tylon Holmes, J’son Hamilton and A’Nilah-Rose Hamilton; (5) Siblings Brenda Clay, Edward Green, Yolanda Jackson, Mose Jackson, and Michael Jackson; (2) Great Aunts Edna Williams and Lillian Hicks. (1) Godson Cameron London, (1) God sister Gwen Norwood (1) Special Son Michael Holloway, and (1) Special brother Rocky Willis. A host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, whom she loved.
She was preceded in death by both parents Mattie Jackson and Hudie Whitfield, both grandparents, one son Jason Hamilton and one brother Willard Green.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Robbins Brothers Funeral Home, Benton Harbor.
