William “Bill” Covington, 63, of Niles, passed away at his residence on Sunday, February 12, 2023.
Bill was born on February 11, 1960 in Norfolk, Virginia to Perry R. and Eleanor (Regnos) Covington.
He was a Niles High School graduate and went on to serve his country proudly in the U. S. Navy, receiving his honorable discharge. Bill was employed for many years at AM General prior to his retirement. He was a past member of the Niles American Legion Post 26. He was a NASCAR enthusiast and enjoyed watching sports, rooting for the University of Michigan, Chicago Bears and Cubs. Spending time with friends and family was also very important to Bill.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, Perry Covington; wife, Julia E. (Ehas) Covington; and two sisters, Katherine Covington and Pamela Fisher.
He is survived by his mother, Eleanor Covington of Niles; his son, Bradley Covington of Arkansas; five grandchildren and his siblings, Terry Covington, Sherry Covington and Deborah Hart, all of Niles. He also leaves to remember him, nieces and nephews; friends, Darlene Fuller of Niles and James (Stephanie) Johnson of Niles.
A time of visitation will be held at Brown Funeral Home in Niles on Thursday, February 16, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. with Full Military Honors rendered by the U. S. Navy as well as American Legion Post 51, Buchanan.
