John David Wreggelsworth Jr., lovingly known as “Big John” and affectionately referred to as “Pappa,” passed away on August 6, 2023, at the age of 67. Born on June 1, 1956, in Niles, Michigan, John was a lifelong resident of Buchanan, Michigan. He was a witty, loving, funny, and loyal man whose laughter and stories filled rooms.

John was a dedicated husband to Kelly Wreggelsworth, to whom he had been married since March 31, 2000. He was a hardworking heavy equipment operator in the construction industry, and his work ethic was unparalleled. His loyalty extended not only to his family but also to his work, where he was known for his dependability.

In his free time, John was an avid gardener and hunter, activities that allowed him to enjoy the peacefulness of nature. He loved his home in Buchanan, Michigan, where he found tranquility and joy. He had a funny sense of humor that was only paralleled by his loving and nurturing nature towards his wife, children and grandchildren, whom he treasured above all else.

John is survived by his wife, Kelly Wreggelsworth; his children, John (Danielle) III, Stacey (Kevin) Wreggelsworth, Nicole (Carl) Myers, and Tiffany (Bruce) Heminger; his grandchildren, Makayla, Joseph, Chyann, Dalton, Gracelynn, and Brooklynn; his mother, Sue Wreggelsworth; and his brother, Timothy Wreggelsworth. It is said, “A good character is the best tombstone.” If that is true, then John’s memory will live on, etched in the hearts of those who knew him. His wit, love, sense of humor, and loyalty will never be forgotten. We invite you to leave your memories and upload photos of John to his memorial page.
