
Sabrina Faith Payne, 46, of Dowagiac, a cherished soul known for her loving, thoughtful, and selfless nature, passed away peacefully of natural causes on July 15, 2024, at her residence in Dowagiac, Michigan. Born on October 28, 1977, in South Bend, Indiana, Sabrina’s infectious smile and generous spirit were a gift to all who knew her.
Sabrina was the beloved daughter of Jeff Sr. and Christine Payne. She grew up surrounded by the love and laughter of her siblings, Jeff (Maria) Payne, Brian (Angela) Payne, Todd (Ellen) Payne, Tonya (Bart) Marshall, Tabatha Wolfe, Shalon (Andrew) Martin, and Isaac (Elizabeth) Payne. Sabrina’s family was the cornerstone of her life, and she cherished her role within it. She was a treasured aunt to nineteen nieces and nephews and nine great-nieces and nephews, who adored her and affectionately called her “Aunt Bina.”
After completing her education in 1996, Sabrina dedicated her career to the care and nurturing of children. Her gentle presence and warm heart made her a favorite among the little ones at the childcare centers in South Bend and Northside School in Niles. Sabrina’s passion for helping children learn and grow was evident in every interaction, and her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched.Beyond her professional life, Sabrina had a vibrant array of interests that brought joy to herself and those around her. She was an avid collector of Barbie Dolls and Precious Moments figurines, each piece a reflection of her appreciation for the beauty and innocence of life. Her love for her nieces and nephews was immense, and she spent countless hours creating memories with them, whether watching movies, playing computer games, or engaging in arts and crafts like coloring, decorating sun-catchers, and photo frames.
Sabrina also had a deep love for the simple pleasures in life. Her favorite color, purple, was a hue that brought her comfort and joy. She was known for always having her trusty box fan nearby, a quirky testament to her love of staying cool and comfortable. Staying up late, whether to chat with loved ones or indulge in her hobbies, was one of her favorite ways to spend time. Rocking was more than just a pastime for Sabrina; it was a therapeutic practice that provided solace and peace.
Butterflies held a special place in Sabrina’s heart. To her, they symbolized transformation and the delicate beauty of life. Their graceful presence was a source of inspiration and a reminder of the ever-present potential for change and growth.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 22, 2024 at Brown Funeral Home in Niles from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at Summit Church at 1700 W. River Road, Niles, Michigan 49120. A private interment will be held at a later time.
