Glenda “GG” Kay Roby passed away at home at the age of 81 on December 23, 2024. She was born on April 11, 1943 to Floyd and Mildred (née Stanley) Gough in Batesville, Arkansas but lived mostly in Southwest Michigan after the age of 14.

Those who loved GG will remember her as four feet and nine inches of sparkles, not only because of her glitter-and-sequins-forward wardrobe, but also because of the effervescent delight she took in every person and place she encountered. Though “GG” was originally short for “Grandma Glenda,” she went by it with everyone she knew regardless of their age, relation, or duration of acquaintance. She held many jobs over the years to support her family as a single mother, but she was a particularly good waitress who doted on her regulars. Later in her life, she put her talent for feeding and hosting people to use at home; she was a gifted cook, creative and adventurous but never fussy in the kitchen. She had a contagious, gravelly belly laugh and she laughed constantly because she saw the humor in everything.

GG married George Roby (January 2, 1944 – August 17, 2024) in 1991. Together, they loved gardening and their bichons, Al and Boo. They were active in Ada Bible Church, Cascade campus. She is survived by her daughters, Stephanie (Brad) Kerlikowske and Stacia (Steve) Stimson, and stepson, Leigh Roby; grandchildren, Elyse (Tyler Germain) Vigiletti, Alison (Brandon) Dudeck, Olivia Vigiletti, Richard (Ashley) Titman, Sabrina (Doug Reardon) Titman, Cordell Brown, Aiden Hutchins, and Ryah Roby; great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Isaac Vigiletti-Germain, Amelia and Ella Dudeck, Vera, Lilah, Ida, and Georgia Titman, and Joziah, Gianni, Alaia, and Skye Brown; and Matthew (Melissa) Hutchins and family.

In addition to her parents and her husband, GG was preceded in death by her son, Richard Lee Titman, Jr., on October 8, 2024 and her stepdaughter, Kerry Hutchins, on August 28, 2010.

GG’s family would like to thank the staff at Woodland Terrace, who took the time to know her and helped make her final months comfortable. A memorial will be held at Roma Pizza, 9673 Red Arrow Hwy., Bridgman, MI, at noon on January 3, 2025.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan.
